KIM CALKINS  / technical director  Kim is the Technical Director of Reign Academy. Kim previously worked as the head coach of the Sounders Women and served as the Technical Director for Washington Youth Soccer, where she led the Washington EPD teams to four regional championships. Kim attended the University of Portland where she helped lead the Pilots to three NCAA College Cup Final Four appearances. After college, Kim played professionally for the Boston Breakers in the WUSA. Kim was the first woman to earn the USSF “Senior A” license & earned a master’s degree in Communication & Leadership from Gonzaga.

ANNIE SITTAUER  / operations manager  Annie graduated from the University of Washington where she was a member of the Women’s Soccer team from 2010-2014. During that time, she also played for the Sounders Women from 2012-2014. Upon graduation from Washington, she went on to earn her master’s degree in Sport Administration and Leadership from Seattle University in 2017. While earning her degree, Annie spent two years working in NCAA Compliance within Seattle University’s Athletic Department. Annie has been with Reign Academy since 2017.

Annie graduated from the University of Washington where she was a member of the Women’s Soccer team from 2010-2014. During that time, she also played for the Sounders Women from 2012-2014. Upon graduation from Washington, she went on to earn her master’s degree in Sport Administration and Leadership from Seattle University in 2017. While earning her degree, Annie spent two years working in NCAA Compliance within Seattle University’s Athletic Department. Annie has been with Reign Academy since 2017.

SAM LAITY  / head coach   2001/2002 DA and 2004 DA   In addition to his role as the Head Coach of the 2001/2002 and 2004 DA Reign Academy teams, Sam is also an Assistant Coach with Reign FC, a position he has held since the team’s inaugural season in 2013. Sam played a key role in Reign FC’s back-to-back NWSL Shield wins in 2014 and 2015. Sam moved to Seattle from Plymouth, England in 2001. Prior to arriving in the US, Sam earned his UEFA “B” coaching license while coaching youth soccer for the English FA. Sam also holds a NSCAA Master Coach Diploma. Sam worked with multiple youth soccer clubs in the Pacific Northwest before joining Reign Academy in 2016.

In addition to his role as the Head Coach of the 2001/2002 and 2004 DA Reign Academy teams, Sam is also an Assistant Coach with Reign FC, a position he has held since the team’s inaugural season in 2013. AMY GRIFFIN  / head coach   2010 Pre-Academy West   A 1991 World Cup winner, Griffin joins our Pre-Academy staff for the 2019-2020 season. Griffin is entering her 24th season as Associate Head Coach of the University of Washington Women’s soccer program and has extensive coaching experience within the US Youth National Team system, including assisting the U20 Youth National Team to a World Cup title in 2014. Griffin has also served as the Head Coach of the US Deaf Women’s National Team for the past three years, during which time she led the team to a victory in the 2016 Deaf Women’s World Cup.

2010 Pre-Academy West

A 1991 World Cup winner, Griffin joins our Pre-Academy staff for the 2019-2020 season. Griffin is entering her 24th season as Associate Head Coach of the University of Washington Women’s soccer program and has extensive coaching experience within the US Youth National Team system, including assisting the U20 Youth National Team to a World Cup title in 2014. Griffin has also served as the Head Coach of the US Deaf Women’s National Team for the past three years, during which time she led the team to a victory in the 2016 Deaf Women’s World Cup.

STEPH VERDOIA  / head coach   2007 and 2009 Pre-Academy West   Verdoia graduated from Seattle University in 2015, where she was a standout on the pitch and in the classroom. Verdoia was named to the All-WAC First Team in 2014 and 2015 and was twice named the WAC Offensive Player of the Year. Verdoia became the first female student-athlete to be drafted by a pro sports team from Seattle U when the Boston Breakers of the NWSL drafted her in 2015. Jan is a highly respected, educated, and passionate coach who has developed some of Washington’s finest women’s soccer players throughout club and Olympic Development Programs. Jan has lead at almost every level of the youth game. Jan was an exceptional and successful youth player from California who went on to achieve great college success for the University of California Santa Barbara as a leader of its women’s soccer program. Jan also holds a degree in Physical Education.
