U.S. Under-16 girls’ national team head coach Kacey White has named the roster for the team’s upcoming camp and matches in Germany. Reign Academy defender Smith Hunter is among the 20 players selected.

“This is an excellent opportunity, reward, and challenge for Smith as she continues to grow and develop as a player,” said Reign Academy technical director Kim Calkins. “It is no doubt an honor for a soccer player to put on the United States jersey and represent her country. Smith is a dedicated, hard-working, and committed player who can make an impact in any game.”

After their third training camp of 2016, the U-16’s will head to Germany from September 6th to 15th for their second international trip of the year. The U.S. will face their German counterparts in two matches during the trip, on September 12th and 14th. The matches will take place at venues to be determined in and around Wildeshausen, Germany.

The players, who moved up from the U-14 level last year, will spend two years on the U-16 GNT before moving on to the U-18s. This group of players will eventually be the core group for the team that will attempt to qualify for the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
